A 5-year-old was struck by a yellow Fiat Panda in Turin’s San Donato area; the driver, identified as the boy’s father’s former girlfriend, fled and was later arrested for attempted murder.
Around 22:30 on Saturday night, a 24-year-old driver traveling on via Pinelli in the Cit Turin district hit a family that was crossing the road, resulting in a 5-year-old boy being struck. The child suffered traumatic chest and abdominal injuries and was taken to Regina Margherita Hospital under a red code; he stayed awake and is being treated in the surgery ward. The driver left the scene immediately, prompting a police search that later identified her as the ex-partner of the boy's father.
