Teenage girl gang-raped and stabbed to death in North Delhi, four suspects arrested
Four teenagers have been arrested for raping and stabbing to death a 16-year-old girl whose body was found in a field in Swaroop Nagar, north Delhi.
A 16-year-old girl in north Delhi was found dead on September 13 with six to eight stab wounds after being gang-raped and murdered in a field near Kushak Road, Swaroop Nagar. Police allege she went to meet a 17-year-old acquaintance on the evening of September 10; when she threatened him, he called three friends, and all four rapes occurred while they were intoxicated. The perpetrators then drove her to the field, stabbed her repeatedly on September 11, and attempted to conceal the body under leaves and mud before fleeing in a tempo.
CCTV footage of the vehicle led investigators to the driver, whose younger brother, a 17-year-old, frequently used the tempo; the four youths were subsequently arrested, including 19-year-old Shivam Ganesh and three minors aged 16-17. Police have seized two knives and the suspects’ clothing, taken blood samples, and are conducting forensic examinations to determine each participant’s role. Deputy commissioner Shobhit Saksena said the inquiry remains ongoing to verify all evidence and explore any additional involvement.
