Teenage student attacks school in Staskov, killing a teacher and wounding two others
An eighth‑grade pupil carried out a knife attack at a school in the village of Staskov, killing a 61‑year‑old teacher and seriously injuring a 44‑year‑old woman and a child, who were taken to hospital. Police are investigating the incident as a violent crime and have restored order at the location. Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed condolences, and President Peter Pelligrini condemned the violence and called for calm. Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok, Health Minister Kamil Šaško and Education Minister Tomáš Drucker visited the site.
