The series, launched in 2022 with substantial Saudi investment, has been left without the Public Investment Fund’s backing, prompting the scrapping of a forthcoming Michigan team event and a halved prize fund of roughly $10 million, with just over $2 million for the winner. Organizers suggest a “LIV 2.0” will emerge with a slimmer schedule, smaller payouts and new investors. DeChambeau expressed optimism about future possibilities despite acknowledging the tour’s imperfections.
