Teenager's anti-cyberbullying app earns global grant and expands nonprofit reach

Trisha Prabhu, who created the ReThink keyboard to flag offensive messages, now leads the ReThink Citizens nonprofit, which recently secured a $50,000 grant from the Archewell Foundation.

Trisha Prabhu built the ReThink keyboard as a teenager to interrupt the sending of offensive messages, prompting users to reconsider their words. The app, which does not block content but offers a brief pause, has achieved over 500,000 downloads and been introduced to millions of students in thousands of schools worldwide. Following her academic studies at Harvard, Yale, Oxford, and Stanford, she founded the nonprofit ReThink Citizens in 2023 to combat cyberbullying and promote digital health.

That initiative was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Archewell Foundation, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle personally congratulating her via video call. Prabhu also advises the Carson J. Bride Effect, an organization dedicated to protecting children from evolving technology risks.
