Teenagers Attend Radical Anti-Imperialist Camp Flaunting Terrorist Flags in the Pacific Northwest
A summer camp run by Anti-Imperialist Front USA gathered teens and young adults who displayed flags of groups such as Hezbollah and studied tactics of designated terrorist communist parties.
In late August, the Anti-Imperialist Front USA (AIF-USA) operated a clandestine “Anti-Imperialist Summer Camp” in the Pacific Northwest, drawing teenagers from its Revolutionary Youth offshoot and a handful of community-college students and young workers. Camp photographs show nearly twenty attendees in hoodies and bandanas gathered around a fire while brandishing flags of Hezbollah, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Palestinian cause and the broader “Axis of Resistance.”
The program’s syllabus featured documents from foreign communist groups designated as terrorist organizations, including Peru’s Shining Path, Turkey’s Marxist-Leninist Communist Party, and India’s Maoist Communist Party, with claims that these “People’s Wars” represent the sole route to liberation for the oppressed. Physical discipline, sports and collective singing of revolutionary songs were also part of the itinerary.
Chapters from Seattle, Bellevue, Puget Sound, Bellingham and Isiquah promoted the camp on Instagram. Following a U.S. Treasury terrorist designation of the Italian hosting collective Autistici/Inventati, the AIF-USA website was removed from U.S. servers.
Why it matters
The camp shows how extremist groups are indoctrinating U.S. youth with terrorist symbols and tactics, raising domestic security concerns.
