Chief minister Revanth Reddy ordered the immediate removal of forest and Endowments Minister Konda Surekha after her daughter publicly criticized him and other party figures, prompting sharp backlash from Congress legislators. A recommendation for her dismissal was forwarded to Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. Simultaneously, the chief minister withdrew G Chinna Reddy’s role as Vice Chairman of the State Planning Board, appointing Women’s Commission chair Gadwal Vijayalakshmi in his place.
The actions followed a disciplinary committee’s advice to take strict action against both officials. Prior to the decision, Reddy, deputy Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and state Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud met with senior AICC leaders, including Mallikarjun Kharge and KC Venugopal, in Delhi. Surekha had earlier appealed to party leadership, claiming no corruption allegations and blaming unnamed forces for the pressure against her.
