Telangana chief orders probe into KCR's 700-acre farmhouse land holdings
Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy directed a 30-day inquiry into the land ownership of BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao's Erravelli farmhouse, alleging large portions may be government land.
In a Telangana assembly session discussing the inclusion of private lands under Section 22-A, chief minister Revanth Reddy ordered a comprehensive probe into the 700-acre property surrounding K Chandrashekar Rao's farmhouse at Erravelli, Siddipet district. He instructed the revenue department to determine within 30 days if as much as 388 acres of the estate is government land, promising confiscation and redistribution to the poor if illegal occupation is proven.
Reddy also listed sizable landholdings of other BRS figures, including K T Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, Kalvakuntla Kavitha and several former legislators, asserting that collectively KCR and relatives control 439 acres across nine districts. He accused the previous BRS regime of a ₹1 lakh crore land scam facilitated by the Dharani records system and announced the creation of a Special Enquiry Team to investigate. Additionally, the chief minister said a high-powered committee will draft guidelines for private lands listed as prohibited, and a new policy will address surplus urban land regularisation.
