Telford haulage firm enters administration after 17 years, sold to new owner
Telford Transport Solutions Limited, a West Midlands haulage and warehousing business, was placed into administration after failing to settle over £1.2 million in tax arrears and was sold to Lloyd Baker Leather Limited.
Telford Transport Solutions Limited, based in Telford, Shropshire, entered administration after 17 years of operation when its directors acknowledged insolvency following HMRC arrears of around £1.2 million. A winding-up petition was issued on 30 September 2026, and Exigen Group’s David Kemp and Richard Hunt were appointed joint administrators on 2 October 2026. They arranged a pre-pack sale of the company’s assets to Lloyd Baker Leather Limited for £320,000, allowing the business to continue trading as a going concern.
All three Telford locations remain open, and 64 of the 69 employees have been transferred to the new owner under TUPE, safeguarding the majority of jobs. The administrators cited rising fuel, insurance, vehicle and driver-wage costs, along with late customer payments, as pressures that have driven many haulage firms into administration recently.
