Ten former Negeri Sembilan exco members sue over revocation gazette
Ten ex-state executive councillors in Negeri Sembilan have filed a court suit challenging a gazette that cancelled their appointments.
The former councillors lodged an originating summons at the Seremban High Court on October 5, targeting the state secretary and the state government. Their lawyers, Hafarizam Wan and Aisha Mubarak, argue that the September 24 gazette revoking their executive council posts is invalid. The plaintiffs seek a declaration on the gazette’s legality and enforceability.
Why it matters
The lawsuit could set a precedent on how state governments can legally remove appointed officials.
