Ten militants slain in CTD raid on Barkhan, Balochistan

The Counter-Terrorism Department killed ten armed militants in a gunfight in Barkhan district, while two of its officers were wounded.

Balochistan’s Home Department confirmed that the Counter-Terrorism Department carried out a precision strike in Barkhan district, eliminating ten militants linked to the Indian-backed group Fitna al Hindustan. The clash left two CTD officers injured, who were subsequently hospitalized, and the bodies of the militants were moved to Rara Sham district hospital. Authorities also seized a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives during the operation.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti lauded the security personnel for their role in combating terrorism and protecting civilians. The incident follows a series of recent engagements in the province, where dozens of militants have been killed in various districts, underscoring Balochistan’s status as the most terrorism-affected region in Pakistan.
