Tesla unveils pedal-less Cybercab robotaxi at Paris Motor Show

Tesla presented its new two-seat, steering-by-wire robotaxi, the Cybercab, at the Paris Motor Show, following a limited rollout in the United States.

Tesla showcased its latest robotaxi model, the Cybercab, at the Paris Motor Show, marking the vehicle's first European appearance after a limited U.S. introduction. The two-seat electric car lacks a traditional steering wheel, pedals, and rear windows, relying on steer-by-wire and brake-by-wire technology controlled via a central touchscreen. With dimensions of 4.44 m by 1.75 m by 1.4 m and a wheelbase of 2.63 m, it rides on 18-inch wheels equipped with 215 mm Continental tires.

The 222-hp motor propels the 1.4-tonne vehicle, which boasts a low drag coefficient of 0.2. Inside, the cabin offers separate front seats with cup holders and armrests, while the rear cargo space can accommodate up to 572 liters or 100 kg of goods. The battery pack delivers an estimated driving range between 470 and 670 km, though the timeline for a full European robotaxi service remains unclear.

Why it matters

The Cybercab signals Tesla's push to expand autonomous ride-hailing services into Europe, potentially reshaping urban mobility.
