Tevez plans testimonial at La Bombonera featuring Messi and Ronaldo together
Former Argentina striker Carlos Tevez intends to host a farewell match in December that could see Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo share the same side for the first time.
Argentina legend Carlos Tevez is organizing a testimonial match at Boca Juniors' iconic La Bombonera stadium, scheduled for December. Although he ended his playing career in 2021, the former Manchester United, Manchester City, Juventus and Boca Juniors forward has not yet held a celebratory game. Tevez says he has invited Lionel Messi, currently with Inter Miami, and Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr to appear together, a first in their careers.
He also plans to feature other football greats such as Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Andrea Pirlo and Gianluigi Buffon. Tevez expressed confidence that he can secure Messi and Ronaldo's participation, noting he has both players' contact details. The event would bring together rivals who have contested the Ballon d'Or for a decade, offering fans a rare joint appearance before either retires.
