Texas Longhorns women's basketball adds Australian guard Jayda Clark for 2026-27 season
The University of Texas announced the signing of Australian guard Jayda Clark, who will join the Longhorns women's basketball team for the 2026-27 campaign.
Texas women's basketball has expanded its recruiting reach by signing Australian guard Jayda Clark, a 21-year-old six-foot player who spent the past two seasons in the WNBL. Clark posted 36 points with eight three-pointers in her most recent professional game, and coach Vic Schaefer praised her experience, size and ability to score at all levels. The Longhorns' backcourt, thinned by the graduation of Rori Harmon and the departures of Jordan Lee and Aaliyah Crump, will now feature Clark alongside returning junior Bryanna Preston, freshmen Addison Bjorn, Amalia Holguin, Lizzy Spaight, and transfer Zya Vann.
The squad also includes international talent such as forward Jada Bediako (Canada), guard Grace Prenter (Ireland), center Lovisa Asbrink Hose (Sweden) and forward Isi Etute (Luxembourg). Clark expressed excitement about joining a successful program with elite coaching and players. She will be eligible to compete starting in the 2026-27 season.
