Texas man arrested and charged with murder after estranged wife found dead

A welfare check in Plano, Texas, was triggered when a friend said Eliana Bigoni had not shown up for an 8:30 a.m. breakfast and could not be reached. Police found her deceased inside the garage of her estranged husband Jake Bigoni's apartment, with major trauma to her head and face, and the body placed in the trunk of a white Hyundai. Officers observed a large blood stain on Jake Bigoni's shirt, which he claimed resulted from cleaning.
He was initially booked on a felony abuse-of-corpse charge, which was later upgraded to a murder charge, and is being held without bond. Jake Bigoni's mother reported that he called to say they had fought and she was dead. Their 2-year-old and 5-year-old children were in the home at the time but were not injured.
