Texas mother charged with manslaughter after high-speed crash kills two recent graduates

A 22-year-old Texas mother, Aldrea Rogers, faces two manslaughter counts after a collision that killed recent SMU graduates Julian Harris and Madison Duren.

Dallas County officials booked Aldrea Rogers, 22, on Oct. 16 on two manslaughter charges after a fatal crash that involved her Hyundai Elantra striking a Toyota Prius driven by Julian Harris, 23, with Madison Duren, 22, as passenger. Investigators say Rogers was traveling well above the 35 mph limit, at an alleged 82 mph, when the collision occurred. Harris died at the scene, while Duren was taken to a hospital and later died.

Rogers' two children were inside her car and survived the incident. The court set a $250,000 bond for each manslaughter count, amounting to $500,000 total. Friends described the victims as active members of Dallas’ theater community and recent Southern Methodist University graduates.
