Texas Senate hopeful James Talarico joins high-priced New York fundraiser with Hollywood and Wall Street donors

James Talarico, the Democratic Senate contender from Texas, is set to appear at a high-priced fundraiser in New York City alongside former Sen. Sherrod Brown and actor Robert De Niro. The Manhattan gathering, with tickets up to $27,000, will also feature actress Gina Gershon and a host committee of major Wall Street donors and film industry leaders. Among the attendees is jewelry designer Alexis Bittar, who has produced a documentary critical of the U.S. flag and has called America a “shithole” in past interviews.

Talarico promotes his campaign as a grassroots effort to “take back Texas,” despite data showing over half of his donations originate outside the state. The fundraiser follows earlier events that paired Talarico with other high-profile Democrats and Hollywood creators, highlighting the reliance on national fundraising networks for his Senate bid.
