Texas voters split on whether RNC convention will boost Republican turnout
A new poll shows Texas voters are divided on the impact of the upcoming Republican National Committee convention on midterm election participation.
A poll commissioned by Overton Insights and the Texas Public Policy Foundation surveyed 1,167 likely Texas voters and revealed a clear partisan split on the upcoming RNC convention’s influence. About half of respondents believe the two-night event could affect the midterm results, whereas the remainder expect little or no impact. Among Republicans, a strong majority anticipate the convention will energize the base, while only a minority of Democrats share that view.
Voters who skipped the primary elections are especially doubtful that the convention will shift the electoral landscape. The findings arrive ahead of the convention, which will feature Donald Trump and JD Vance as keynote speakers, and come as both parties gear up for competitive Senate and House races in Texas.
