TfL probes alleged distribution of pro-Palestine stickers by a tube employee
A video showing a London Underground staff member handing a pro-Palestine sticker to a passenger has prompted TfL to launch an investigation.
A widely shared video captured a TfL uniformed worker at a busy London station offering a pro-Palestine sticker, allegedly affiliated with the RMT union, to a commuter who referenced "Free Palestine". The footage, nearing 200,000 views on X, sparked online criticism because TfL’s conduct rules explicitly ban the distribution of political items by staff. Campaigner Heidi Bachram highlighted the incident, questioning why a public transport employee would engage in partisan activity.
In response, TfL said it is aware of the video and is investigating the circumstances, reaffirming that employees must not wear or hand out political material. Social media users called for decisive action, with some demanding the employee be dismissed. The RMT union has been contacted for comment.
Why it matters
It raises concerns about political neutrality in public services and adherence to transport authority rules.
