Think tank launches detailed plan to sway undecided voters toward Scottish independence

Common Weal, a leading Scottish pro-independence think tank, has launched a major project to address the practical concerns of voters who are unsure about independence. The initiative will produce a detailed matrix of more than 80 issues, focusing on public infrastructure and the transition process rather than political rhetoric. An expert panel comprising Joanna Cherry, Richard Murphy, Frances Guy, Ian Stewart, Gail Lythgoe, and Richard Norton Taylor will provide guidance on legal, tax, foreign-policy, currency, and defence topics.

The think tank has secured some financing from the Scottish Independence Foundation and is seeking an additional £10,000 to fund the work, which is expected to take about a year. Founder Robin McAlpine emphasized the need for a concrete, implementable plan, while convenor Malcolm Fraser highlighted the goal of untangling longstanding joint arrangements with the UK.
