A poll by Ireland Thinks and the Sunday one outlet showed 69% of those surveyed did not welcome the visit. Trump later said he did not know a protest was planned and praised the U.S.-Ireland relationship as “fantastic.” He will spend the next few days at his Doonbeg golf resort while the Irish Open takes place.
