Three arrested after fatal drug-debt clash at Kaohsiung spa
A dispute over a drug debt at an abandoned spa in Kaohsiung left one man dead and two seriously injured; three suspects have been detained while a fourth remains at large.
In the early hours of Monday, a confrontation over an alleged NT$10,000 drug debt erupted at a shuttered health spa on Baotai Road in Kaohsiung's Fengshan District. Three men - Lee, Lin and Chuang - gathered with members of the opposing group, but the discussion quickly escalated into a melee involving clubs and knives. Lee suffered fatal head injuries, while Lin and Chuang were left with multiple wounds and taken to a local hospital.
Investigators reviewed video from the scene, tracking four assailants who fled together in a car; three have since been taken into custody, and one remains at large. The incident is being investigated as a homicide linked to the drug-debt dispute. One outlet's reports indicate the attackers included two brothers named Tung, who were reportedly angry about being pressed to repay the debt.
