Three arrested for pro-Khalistan graffiti at Delhi’s Singhu Border ahead of BRICS summit
Three men were detained for allegedly painting pro-Khalistan slogans on the Singhu Border wall days before the BRICS summit, police say the act was linked to Sikhs for Justice.
On September 6, pro-Khalistan graffiti appeared on walls at Delhi’s Singhu Border, prompting a police investigation. The Delhi Police Special Cell examined surveillance footage, identified three men and seized a car they allegedly used, leading to their arrest. Officials claim the vandalism was orchestrated by the outlawed organization Sikhs for Justice, whose leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun publicly acknowledged the act on X. Investigators also allege the mastermind communicated with a foreign handler and received overseas funding to run SFJ’s Indian operations.
The incident occurs as India prepares for the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam, with over 15,000 police officers and about 200 CAPF companies deployed, including dog squads, to ensure security. Special Commissioner Manish Agarwal highlighted the extensive security measures surrounding the event.
