Three attackers flee after assaulting sleeping driver on Auckland waterfront
A person sleeping in a car on Auckland’s waterfront was assaulted by three men early Thursday, police said.
Police responded to an attempted robbery around 2.20 am on Jellicoe Street in the Wynyard Quarter. The victim, who was asleep in their vehicle, was assaulted as three men tried to force them out. After the victim shouted for help, nearby by-standers intervened and the suspects fled. Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Burrow appealed for information to locate the attackers.
