Three civilians killed in separate shelling and UXO blast in Yemen
Yemen's Houthi-linked health ministry reported that artillery fire killed one person in al-Waqr, while an unexploded ordnance explosion claimed two lives in Beit Bish.
According to the ministry's spokesperson Dr Anees Alasbahi, artillery shells struck the al-Waqr area of Shadaa District, killing one individual and wounding two others. In a separate incident near Al-Rawn, an unexploded ordnance detonated in Beit Bish, resulting in two fatalities. The ministry previously noted a Saudi-led strike on an oil facility in Ras Isa that injured two and killed two.
Why it matters
The deaths illustrate the continued risk to civilians from both active shelling and leftover explosives in Yemen's conflict.
