Firefighters responding to a blaze in Maywood discovered a married couple and their young child dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Early Saturday morning, firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire at a home on the 5000 block of E 61st Street in Maywood, Los Angeles County. The LA County Fire Department arrived at approximately 2:20 a.m., called for backup due to heavy smoke, and managed to bring the blaze under control. Once the fire was suppressed, emergency responders found three victims—a married couple in their late 40s and their son, who was under ten years old—inside a bedroom, each with fatal gunshot injuries.
