Three immigrants die in separate ICE incidents across Maine, Georgia and Florida within 24 hours

A series of ICE-related incidents claimed three lives in three states over a 24-hour period. In Biddeford, Maine, officer David Brouillette fired at Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, 25, after a vehicle stop, resulting in his death. In Georgia, detainee Jesús Manuel Arenas-Silva, 45, suffered a medical emergency during a bus transfer and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

In St Augustine, Florida, Juan Jairo Coronilla Durán, 28, ran from ICE agents at a highway-side convenience store, fell onto the roadway and was hit by a semitruck. The Maine attorney general’s office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and the Florida Highway Patrol are all conducting investigations, while DHS has issued statements on each incident.
