Three men killed and four injured in early-morning Detroit shooting

Detroit police were called to an after-hours location on the city's west side shortly after 7:20 a.m., where a shooting had occurred near the intersection of Eaton Avenue and Prest Street. Chief Todd Bettison said three male victims, each roughly 30 years of age or older, suffered fatal injuries, while four additional people - two men and two women - were transported to a hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Authorities believe the gunfire erupted from a fight, but they do not view the scene as an ongoing public danger. The police department has multiple leads and is working to identify those responsible, though no arrests have been confirmed. Mayor Mary Sheffield announced that the Office of Neighborhood and Community Safety will provide extensive support services to affected families, and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers of Michigan.
