Three Moroccan migrants detained after throwing corrosive bottles at Ceuta soldiers

On Sunday night, Spanish law enforcement apprehended three Moroccan illegal migrants after they threw bottles containing a corrosive liquid at military officials in Ceuta’s San Amaro neighborhood. The soldiers, who were unarmed and without protective equipment, escaped injury. Authorities responded swiftly, locating and detaining the perpetrators.

This episode follows earlier stone and ambush attacks on the military that left several officers injured. Local NGOs have been accused of supplying the materials used in these assaults, prompting political calls for stricter oversight. Vox MEP Jorge Buxadé demanded that EU funding to the implicated NGO be halted. The incident adds pressure on the Spanish Troops and Sailors Association to seek higher risk status for military personnel.
