Three people injured after car collides with elephant on Kemaman road
A Perodua Ativa hit an elephant near Kemaman at 7.58 pm, causing a rear-end crash with a following Perodua Myvi; three occupants suffered minor injuries.
At 7.58 pm, a Perodua Ativa driven by 29-year-old Amirul Afiq Aazmi collided with an elephant that entered the roadway near Kemaman while traveling from Jerangau toward Jabor. The sudden impact prevented the driver from braking in time, and the vehicle struck the animal. A second vehicle, a Perodua Myvi driven by 31-year-old Wan Muhammad Faiz Fakhrullah Wan Muhammad Zainal, subsequently hit the Ativa from behind.
Amirul Afiq suffered a minor hand wound, his passenger Farhain Jolius incurred minor injuries to her leg and chest, and the Myvi driver sustained a minor knee injury. All three victims received treatment in the green zone of Kemaman Hospital. Police chief Razi Rosli confirmed that dash-cam recordings have been obtained to support the ongoing investigation under the Road Traffic Rules 1980.
