Three suspects arrested for €4,000 laundrette thefts across Spain’s Marina Alta
Three individuals were detained after allegedly stealing over €4,000 and damaging self-service laundrettes in El Verger, Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos.
After a series of burglaries at self-service laundrettes in El Verger, Pedreguer and Gata de Gorgos, the Guardia Civil’s El Verger unit identified three suspects and detained them on Oct 14. The suspects - two men aged 37 and 42 and a 20-year-old woman - are accused of five forced-entry offences that netted over €4,000 and left significant damage to the premises. Police say the group initially entered the laundrettes as ordinary customers to learn the layout and security measures, then returned to carry out the thefts.
The investigation linked the same individuals to all three locations. The case file has been sent to the investigating section of the Court of Instance in Dénia, where judicial proceedings will continue. Authorities highlighted the vulnerability of automated, unmanned businesses to such pre-planned attacks.
