Three suspects linked to criminal activity flee after crash kills Bentong volunteer
Police say three men who fled the scene of a September 14 crash that killed a Malaysian Volunteer Corps member were involved in criminal activities.
On the morning of September 14, a Perodua Myvi veered into the lane of a motorcyclist on Jalan Mempaga-Sertik, killing Fazlizal Abdul Samad, a 41-year-old volunteer of the Bentong Malaysian Volunteer Corps. The three men inside the Myvi fled the scene and are believed to be involved in criminal activities, including vehicle theft. Acting Pahang police chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the vehicle’s owner, a Bentong resident who rented the car to the three men, was arrested on September 15 and tested positive for drugs.
The owner has been remanded and is being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act. Police are now tracking the three suspects based on information provided by the car owner.
