Three Tallaght residents charged after woman alleges 13-hour torture in Dublin
A woman claimed she was kidnapped, bound and subjected to severe abuse for 13 hours, leading to charges of false imprisonment and assault against Paul Walsh, Sarahanne Smith and James Colton.
During an emergency court session, Paul Walsh, Sarahanne Smith and James Colton were charged after a woman reported a 13-hour ordeal of kidnapping, restraint and torture at Colton’s Fortunestown Close residence. She described being zip-tied, beaten with kicks and punches, burned with boiling water and heated tools, and having her hair shaved with a head shaver. Evidence included a scene-of-crime examiner’s photographs of injuries and CCTV footage showing the defendants moving the victim in a car boot.
Garda Aaron Melinn and detectives Niamh O’Connor and Brian Law opposed bail, citing intimidation risks. Judge Treasa Kelly denied bail for Walsh and Smith, imposing a €1,000 bond and curfew for Smith pending further conditions.
