Three-year-old found dead in Tortona flat; mother arrested
A three-year-old girl was discovered dead in a social-housing apartment in Tortona, and her Russian mother was taken into custody.
Carabinieri found the body of a little girl, just over three, in a bedroom of a social-housing unit on via Baluardo in Tortona, Alessandria province. The only other resident was her mother, a Russian national with sole custody, who was arrested after being questioned by a magistrate. The family lived in a complex managed by the cooperative Agape, and investigators note that the child's father, previously judged violent toward his partner, had recently been re-engaged with the child. The Scientific Investigation Section of the provincial Carabinieri command is leading the inquiry.
