Thunder Road Films and Lit Entertainment Team Up to Launch TR/AK Media Venture

Thunder Road Films founder Basil Iwanyk and his partner Erica Lee have partnered with Lit Entertainment Group founder Adam Kolbrenner to launch TR/AK, a new independent media company. TR/AK will prioritize creators and original narratives while pursuing high-budget film and television projects aimed at global markets. The venture leverages Thunder Road’s track record of $4.4 billion in worldwide box-office earnings and Lit’s client list, which has contributed more than $7 billion and thousands of TV hours.

The partners cited a shared vision to build the most expansive independent company in the industry, and they expect to add senior executives as the firm expands its finance, operations and corporate functions. Recent collaborations include films like “The Surgeon” starring Michelle Yeoh and “Day Drinker” for Lionsgate, underscoring the joint venture’s immediate pipeline.
