Ticketmaster's Oasis ticket pricing case postponed as expert report is sought

The trial over Ticketmaster's alleged misleading practices on Oasis 2025 Platinum tickets has been delayed pending an expert report.

Ticketmaster's trial concerning alleged misleading commercial practices for the Oasis 2025 reunion shows at Croke Park has been rescheduled. The case, which began in Dublin District Court last month following an investigation by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, was originally slated for December but Judge Anthony Halpin ordered a postponement to allow the company to obtain an expert report. The firm is charged under section 47 of the Consumer Protection Act for providing unclear information about Platinum tickets and for potentially deceiving consumers about their main characteristics.

Defence counsel Brian Gageby indicated that around twelve witnesses will be called, while prosecutor Ronan Kennedy noted prior correspondence between the sides. A new hearing date will be set when the case is listed for mention on 9 November.

Why it matters

The delay highlights the complexity of consumer-protection enforcement against major ticketing platforms.
