TikTok adds AI filters and a family safety guide for Philippine users
TikTok rolled out new AI-content controls and a #ThinkTwice family safety guide in the Philippines, offering labeling, filtering and parental tools.
During a TikTok Table Talk in the Philippines, the platform announced several measures aimed at protecting younger users. An AI Literacy Hub in Filipino now teaches how to identify AI-generated videos, and more than 3 billion videos carry an AI-generated label derived from watermarks and creator tags. A new “AI-Generated Content” toggle in the Manage Topics menu allows users to limit such videos in their feeds without removing them.
TikTok also introduced the #ThinkTwice Family Guide, a printable and digital resource that explains its 50 default teen-privacy settings, Family Pairing, and conversation prompts for parents. The company said it deleted over 86 million fake accounts worldwide in the first quarter of 2026 and removed 3.5 million videos in the Philippines between January and March, most proactively. Government requests accounted for a small fraction of takedowns, and lawmakers are considering bills that would raise the minimum age for social-media access to 13 or 16. TikTok’s efforts are part of a broader “multi-stakeholder approach” that includes teacher training and youth consultations with local NGOs.
