TikTok video captures three headlamp-clad men climbing out of Manhattan manhole

A new TikTok video captured three men wearing headlamps and work overalls climbing out of a manhole near Manhattan's Penn Station at about 4 a.m. on Tuesday. This scene adds to two prior videos that showed men surfacing from manholes in Williamsburg and Gravesend, which had already triggered a joint NYPD and Department of Environmental Protection probe. Authorities believe the individuals are likely searching the city's extensive sewer network for discarded items of value.

Inspections of the area’s pipes revealed no structural damage. Both the police department and the environmental agency warned that entering manholes without permission is illegal and poses serious risks, including toxic gases and flooding. No arrests have been made as the investigation continues.
