It seeks to strengthen work-life balance and promote calm, family-centered celebrations by mandating the closure of retail outlets, with exceptions for restaurants, hotels, flower and confectionery shops, fuel stations, and transport terminals.
The amendment would insert December 24 into the civil service law, the labor code and other relevant statutes. Should parliament approve the measure, the day would become an official non-working day under the new legal framework.
