Titans cut defensive lineman Jordan Elliott after firearm incident at practice
The Tennessee Titans released defensive lineman Jordan Elliott after he tried to retrieve a gun from his car following a practice dispute.
The Tennessee Titans terminated Jordan Elliott, a defensive lineman who signed a two-year, $8 million contract, after an incident at the team’s practice facility on Oct. 15. During the session Elliott clashed with offensive lineman JC Latham and was instructed to leave, after which he removed his pads and headed to his car. Security footage showed him reaching for a gun, but teammate John Franklin-Myers stopped him before any further action.
The Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed no incident report was filed. Coach Robert Saleh had earlier noted Elliott was dealing with personal matters, and he was listed as inactive for the Week 6 win over the Colts. Elliott’s release raises questions about his future in the NFL.
