Titans DB Nazeeh Johnson cites fertility drug for PED suspension
Titans defensive back Nazeeh Johnson received a six-game, unpaid ban after testing positive for a banned substance, which he says came from medication taken during fertility treatment.
The Tennessee Titans announced that defensive back Nazeeh Johnson will sit out the opening six games of the 2026 regular season without pay after a positive test for a prohibited performance-enhancing substance. Johnson, a former Kansas City Chiefs player, clarified in a lengthy X post that the substance was part of a fertility drug he was taking while his wife and he attempted to conceive a child. He said he was unaware that the medication contained a banned ingredient and used the incident to caution other NFL athletes about vetting any substances they ingest.
The league confirmed Johnson remains eligible for preseason activities but cannot return to regular-season play until Oct. 19. Johnson, who was drafted in the seventh round of 2022, has previously dealt with injuries and contributed to the Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning roster. He did not dispute the test result or the imposed penalty.
