Toddler Falls from Seaside Heights Sky Ride, Aunt and Child Treated at Hospital

A 2-year-old girl fell from the Sky Ride at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights and was taken with her aunt to a Toms River medical center for evaluation.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Monday, a toddler slipped from the Sky Ride at Casino Pier in Seaside Heights before the attraction started moving. She fell onto an entrance platform and then onto the sand, a height of about 10-12 feet above the boardwalk. Firefighters quickly shut down the ride and used a ladder to bring down a 3-year-old boy who was still on board.

The girl and her aunt were transported to Community Medical Center in Toms River for medical evaluation, while the boy was safely rescued on site. Police reported that the ride appeared to be operating correctly, with no evident defects. The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs is investigating the incident, though no malfunction has been identified so far.
