Tohoku Shinkansen service restored after maintenance vehicle failure caused partial shutdown
JR East announced that the Tohoku Shinkansen resumed operations on Thursday following a temporary suspension caused by a maintenance vehicle malfunction.
The bullet-train line between JR Nasushiobara Station in Tochigi and JR Morioka Station in Iwate was halted after a maintenance vehicle broke down during night work. The fault first disrupted service between JR Sendai and Koriyama before spreading further. JR East confirmed that normal service has now been reinstated.
