Tom Fazio teams with CityGolf USA to launch indoor 18-hole course in Nashville

Renowned architect Tom Fazio has partnered with CityGolf USA to design an indoor 18-hole golf venue that will open this winter in Nashville.

Renowned architect Tom Fazio has teamed up with indoor golf operator CityGolf USA to develop a new class of indoor courses, starting with a massive 174,000-square-foot facility in Nashville slated for this winter. Through his firm Fazio Design Technologies, Fazio will craft a set of 18 distinct holes that combine GOLFZON simulators with artificial-turf greens built on crushed rock and real-sand bunkers, aiming to replicate authentic putting and chipping.

The venue will feature 18 hitting bays, a restaurant, bar, private event areas, and will be open up to 19 hours a day, targeting 150,000-200,000 rounds per year, about 90% of which are public. CityGolf USA CEO Tony Graffia Jr., also managing partner of Nessie Capital, described the concept as “real golf” rather than a video game, while his son Gavin Fazio highlighted the growing off-course participation in the U.S., now approaching 38 million. Future sites are planned for Chicago and other markets, with construction costs ranging from $10 million to $15 million per venue.

Why it matters

The partnership brings a high-profile golf design to indoor venues, expanding access to realistic golf experiences year-round.
