Tom Tiffany clinches Republican nomination for Wisconsin governor with 95% vote

Rep. Tom Tiffany secured the Republican ticket for Wisconsin’s governor race, winning the primary with an overwhelming 95 percent of the vote and more than 350,000 ballots cast for him. His closest challenger, Andy Manske, managed only about 16,000 votes, roughly 4.3 percent of the total. Tiffany’s July fundraising drive brought in $10 million, with donors from every one of the state’s 72 counties and over 10,000 small-money contributors.

He framed the campaign as a grassroots effort responding to voter fatigue with big government, higher costs, and bureaucracy. Tiffany promised to lower taxes, cut red tape, and shrink government’s role. The victory makes him the Republican standard-bearer in the upcoming gubernatorial contest.
