Top Central Bank Leaders Gather in Istanbul to Tackle Inflation and Policy Risks
Leading central bankers, including the U.S. Fed governor and the Bank of England chief, will attend the Istanbul Economic Forum to discuss inflation, monetary policy and the global outlook.
The Istanbul Economic Forum is set to convene a distinguished group of central banking officials this Thursday and Friday. Among the attendees are U.S. Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller, Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, BIS General Manager Pablo Hernandez de Cos and Banque de France Governor Emmanuel Moulin. The roster also lists central bank governors from Greece, the Netherlands, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, bringing the total to 16 governors and eight deputy governors.
Finance ministers from Turkey and Egypt, as well as representatives of international financial institutions, will also take part. The agenda focuses on navigating a fragmented global economy, managing monetary policy amid uncertainty, assessing debt dynamics, and exploring how artificial intelligence and digital innovation could reshape macroeconomic policy. The Fed has posted Waller’s speech for Thursday on its website, confirming his participation.
