Top golfers question safety of DP World Tour Middle East playoffs amid regional conflict

Bob MacIntyre indicated that he may skip the DP World Tour’s final events in Abu Abu Dhabi and Dubai because of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, echoing teammate Matt Fitzpatrick’s reservations. Both players said they will watch developments closely before confirming participation. The tour’s CEO Guy Kinnings confirmed that the Abu Abu Dhabi Championship and the DP World Tour Championship are still slated for November, but the circuit is staying in touch with members and travel advisors.

The feeder circuit, the HotelPlanner Tour, is also proceeding with a rescheduled Abu Abu Dhabi Challenge. While MacIntyre and Fitzpatrick remain hesitant, Tommy Fleetwood said his recent two-week visit to the UAE felt safe, with no incidents affecting his routine. The combined prize pool for the two playoff events totals $19 million.
