Top Trump Economic Aide Paige Willey Resigns for Private-Sector Role at Invariant

Deputy assistant to the president for economic policy and deputy director of the National Economic Council, Paige Willey, announced her departure from the White House to take a position at Invariant, a bipartisan policy and communications firm. In a post on X, she reflected on serving in both Trump administrations and thanked President Donald Trump, economist Kevin Hassett and senior aide Susie Wiles for the opportunity.

The White House praised her as an "instrumental asset" who helped launch the president's economic agenda from day one. National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett highlighted her tireless work recruiting and mentoring an economic team. Willey previously worked as communications director for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton before rejoining the White House in January of last year. Her exit adds to a wave of recent resignations that includes press secretary Karoline Leavitt, deputy national security adviser Andy Baker and legislative affairs director James Braid, underscoring staff turnover ahead of the upcoming midterms.
