Top WA realtor barred from 2026 awards after sales data discrepancies
The Real Estate Institute of Western Australia has excluded Roy Li from this year’s awards after finding errors in his reported sales figures.
Western Australia’s real-estate body REIWA has disqualified Roy Li, a top-performing agent from Ideal Realty WA, from the 2026 industry awards after an analysis showed significant inconsistencies in his sales volume and price submissions. The audit found that at least one-third of the properties he listed did not match the prices recorded on the state land-title register, and six transactions involving properties he or co-licensee Lin Ding owned inflated his reported sales by almost $10 million.
A separate warning from Consumer Protection alleges Li used a shell company in 2024 to purchase a home he was hired to sell, a claim he disputes. Li says the errors stemmed from entering advertised prices instead of final contract amounts and that corrected data have been sent to REIWA. The institute, which has been reviewing his figures for six months, has referred the case to its Professional Standards Tribunal and may reassess his prior-year award. REIWA president Suzanne Brown emphasized the importance of data integrity for consumer confidence.
