Tornado warning lifts as strong storms linger over Utah's Wasatch Front
A tornado warning for parts of the Wasatch Front and northern Utah expired, but severe thunderstorms are still expected this afternoon.

A separate severe thunderstorm warning for the same area will expire at 3 p.m. A low-pressure system moving from the Pacific Northwest is expected to clash with subtropical moisture, creating wind shear that could sustain strong storms into the evening, with only scattered showers likely after dark. The warning marks only the second tornado alert issued by the Salt Lake City office this year, following a previous one in Tooele County, and Utah typically sees about two tornadoes annually.
